Summer is in full swing over here and I am enjoying days in the pool, pizza on the patio, and evenings by the fire pit. But you know what makes it even better? S’mores! Today I am sharing all my secrets to creating an epic DIY backyard s’mores bar! Perfect for hanging out with the family, hosting a BBQ, or even a wedding reception! I am even sharing the instant download printables I created! Are you ready for s’more? (See what I did there) 😉

Basic S’mores Ingredients and more!
Graham Crackers
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Oreos
Funfetti Cookies
Fudge Stripe Cookies
Milk Chocolate
Dark Chocolate
White Chocolate
Spicy Chocolate
Peanut Butter Cups
Peppermint Patties
Caramel Chocolates
Marshmallows
Jars
BBQ Skewers
As I said, I like to think outside the cracker when it comes to s’mores. Mostly because I am not the biggest fan of graham crackers. But creating your own combination is part of the fun! And with enough ingredients, you are sure to find at least one s’more for you 😉
And don’t worry, if you don’t have a firepit you can always make indoor s’mores in the microwave or over the flame of these. I have even made s’mores with a kitchen torch before!
There are TONS of options when it comes to this tasty backyard treat and I have come up with 11 of them for you!
Birthday Cake = funfetti cookie + marshmallow + white chocolate
If you know me, you know. I LOVE birthday cake! Like the legit kind with butter cream frosting (the kind that makes your teeth hurt) none of that fake frosting made with whipped cream. I digress. This one is simple. Two funfetti cookies, marshmallow, and white chocolate.
Classic = graham cracker + marshmallow + milk chocolate
This is a great option if you only have a few ingredients or are simply a s’mores purist. I like to get these individually wrapped chocolate bars so nothing goes to waste.
Cookie Monster = chocolate chip cookie + marshmallow + chocolate
I am a BIG fan of chocolate chip cookies and what better way to make them even more delicious than to add more chocolate and a marshmallow? I rest my case. The best part is you can use a milk chocolate bar or dark chocolate!
Fiery = graham cracker + marshmallow + chili chocolate
Do you like a little spice in your life? I definitely do! And this chili infused chocolate gives you just enough of that sweet and spicy.
Grasshopper = graham cracker + marshmallow + peppermint patty
I’m usually a fan of anything minty. I even bought mint flavored milk at Christmas one year and it made really good hot chocolate. This one is basically like making a s’more with thin mints even if girl scout cookies aren’t in season!
Mint Chocolate Chip = chocolate chip cookie + marshmallow + peppermint patty
This tastes just like mint chocolate chip ice cream. Need I say more?
Nutty Buddy = graham cracker + marshmallow + peanut butter cup
This is one of Barry’s favorites! If you like peanut butter cups, you will love this one. You could even make it with cookies instead!
S’moreo = oreo + marshmallow + chocolate
This is also a household favorite! Simply twist open the cookie leaving the frosting in place and add toasty marshmallows and chocolate. Again you can customize and use milk or dark chocolate!
Sweet N’ Salty = graham cracker + marshmallow + salted caramel chocolate
If you love sweet and salty treats, this one is for you! These chocolate squares are perfect for making s’mores! the caramel is inside the chocolate and oozes out as you eat it! Definitely a must try!
Twilight = graham cracker + marshmallow + dark chocolate
Dark chocolate is definitely my favorite so I felt this twist on the classic deserved its own name. And if you really love dark chocolate, go for the extra dark!
Zebra = fudge striped cookie + marshmallow + chocolate
If you grew up in the 80s or 90s, you probably love these shortbread chocolate striped cookies! And let me tell you, they make excellent s’mores! Just make sure you turn the chocolate bottom to face the middle for the extra chocolatey goodness 🙂
Tips for setting up your S’mores Bar
Set up everything for easy access, but protect it from critters. One of my favorite ways to display items like cookies that are not individually wrapped and keep them fresh is in these clear, plastic, airtight jars. This way when it’s time to bring everything inside, you can simply put the jars in the pantry if you have extras! You could also use large mason jars or cute party favor clear bags.
These would also be a great solution for a camping trip. No one wants to wake up to a mess from a wild animal who helped themselves to a sweet treat.
Don’t forget the skewers! I always use metal BBQ skewers because they can be washed. But you could definitely use a long stick of you are looking for a more rustic vibe. Either way, just make sure you have enough because everyone will want a s’more around a crackling fire!
Get creative! All of these s’mores ideas are favorites for us, but there are so many possibilities! Mix and match to make your perfect treat! I used normal marshmallows, but you could also use jumbo marshmallows, colored marshmallows, or even marshmallow frosting or fluff!
I have also seen people host a s’mores bar in lieu of a favor table for parties and even their big day for edible wedding favors!
