Christmas House Tour 2020
Christmas is just over a week away and I am ready! Last week I shared my last DIY for 2020 so I felt like it was only appropriate to give you the full Christmas House Tour this week. I have said it many times, but I love to recycle decor and find new ways to make it shine, because let’s be honest, money doesn’t grow on trees! Some items will feel familiar, some are new, and some I have just covered in fottery 😉 Either way, you don’t have to spend a fortune to make your home feel cozy for the holidays! Are you ready to check out my 2020 holiday look?

Over the past few years I have simplified my holiday decor and pulled back a little on how much I do for a few reasons. First, I always hate how naked the house feels when January rolls around and all the Christmas decorations come down. The second is a little more complicated. I LOVE creating and DIYing and the more I deck my halls the less time I have for new Christmas DIYs and being creative. So I do a little less, but still make our home feel cozy and have time for ALL the DIYs 😉
Christmas House Tour 2020
With that in mind, I added some small touches of Christmas cheer to the living, dining, and entryway which we made over during the great quarantine of 2020. Even though it was the perfect opportunity for us to accomplish a lot, let’s hope 2021 leaves out the quarantine!
I added only a few Christmas trees, a greenery center piece I made from a pot I had out by the pool this summer, and a strand of beaded garland I made.
The dining room got a simple centerpiece with a few Christmas trees, some more beaded garland I made, and some evergreen sprigs. Spoiler alert, that little black vase may fall victim to my fottery soon, haha 🙂
I added another Christmas tree, which I hacked from the Dollar store a few years ago, next to my favorite leopard print chaise! Seriously, SO comfortable.
And of course it wouldn’t be Christmas without my favorite faux fur Christmas wreath! I love how it looks on the front door now that it looks taller! Hopefully I will be able to address the paint going up the hallway in 2021. More to come on future projects in a few weeks.
The buffet table/entryway also received some holiday cheer with a few more trees, a star I hijacked from our bedroom, and my long time favorite Noel sign.
The majority of the Christmas decorations landed in the family room which is where we spend most of our time, especially since our recent One Room Challenge makeover!
This year I decided to add some more natural elements to my holiday decor and sprinkled unfinished wood nutcrackers all around, even on the tree! They look so good on the wet bar and the new credenza too.
Of course the mantel received its fair share of Christmas cheer as well with stockings, my new fottery trees, and I feel like our new fireplace insert counts too 🙂
I shopped my local thrift store, aka my basement, and found a few fur pillows I added to the sofa and chair for a more wintry vibe. The new picture ledge also got a few Christmas prints from the latest additions to my library.
And of course there is one design element I am calling my early Christmas present this year, our cable railing! If you follow me on Instagram, you know this was quite the topic between Barry and I. To summarize, I won and Barry now agrees that my idea was awesome!
This is seriously my FAVORITE view in our house!
