4th Of July BBQ Decor Ideas On A Budget

It feels like every year we inch our way towards summer and before we know it, it’s the 4th of July! And it would be completely un-American not to celebrate, right?! So in the spirit of a good old fashioned American BBQ, I am going to show you a few easy and budget friendly decor ideas to take your BBQ to the next level. And at the very end I am including a link to my go to BBQ favs, tried and true!

Festive 4th of July BBQ setup with red, white, and blue decorations. Features a jar with flags, patriotic plates, and a drinks station. A chalkboard in the background reads "Happy 4th of July.Whenever we plan a house party, I like to have a general theme in mind. For this one the theme is easy. America. And when we are talking about a food event, I always start with the table where people will be eating. If you saw my Spring Tablescape, you know I don’t like to accumulate too many “one holiday” decor items because it can get pretty pricey, but I love to add themed items into the decor I already own. So I started with my white outdoor plates which can be paired with pretty much anything. To get them in the patriotic spirit, I added some red, white, & blue paper salad plates I picked up at Target in the bargain section for only $1. When we dine outside on the patio, I also like to use placemats since the table has cutouts. It makes for easier cleanup. So I snagged some red and blue placemats at the Dollar Tree for $1 each. I can use each color individually for other occasions too, which makes them more versatile.A table setting features a square white plate with a smaller round paper plate on top. The paper plate has red, white, and blue stripes. The placemat is red, with a textured rectangular design, and it all rests on a dark surface.A round paper plate with horizontal red, blue, and white stripes is placed on a larger white square plate. The plates rest on a blue textured mat. While I was at the Dollar Tree, I also grabbed a few small American flags. I had intended to use a glass vase I had, but then I saw this small silver vessel in my stash of décor items, I knew it was perfect! Crazy enough, it was originally a bathroom soap dispenser that stopped working! I just knew the bottom of it would serve me well someday 🙂 You never know what you will find in our basement!A table setting with two small American flags in a silver holder, surrounded by candle holders with white candles. The tableware includes plates and napkins, and the background shows partial views of outdoor furniture.Last fall, before our chili cook-off party, I found these glass and wooden hurricanes at HomeGoods (come on, are you really surprised?). They are still high on my favorites list so I used them to add in some organic texture.A table set for a patriotic celebration features American flag-themed plates, small American flags in the center, and glass candle holders with white candles. Blue placemats add a pop of color on the black table.Once the table was put together, I moved onto the buffet table where we set up food. To continue with the festive theme, I incorporated some red, white, & blue serving dishes I found at the Dollar Tree. How fun are those red stars? Again these could all be used on different occasions individually making them not “one season”.A chalkboard sign reads "Happy 4th of July" with a small firework drawing. Below the sign, there are red star-shaped trays and a white plate on a dark table. A window is in the background. Then I broke out my chalk board and paired it with a festive USA sign I also found for $1 to add to the theme.Patriotic 4th of July setup on a wooden table with red and blue plates, a jar of water, utensils, wine glasses, and a candle. A chalkboard displays "Happy 4th of July" and a sign with "USA" is in the background. Glittery sign with "USA" in large letters. The letters have alternating red and white stripes and are filled with white stars on a blue background, resembling the American flag. The sign is against a beige textured wall.To finish off the buffet table, I added a drink station, star napkins, and a small pail for silverware. All items except the napkins, I already owned and use for a multitude of occasions.A clear glass beverage dispenser with a spigot is placed on a wooden stool. Next to it is a black tray holding several tall, transparent glasses and a metal container with plastic utensils on a table against a window. A stack of white napkins with red and blue stars printed on them, placed on a dark wooden surface. So with only $15 I added festive, 4th of July flair to our BBQ!
