4th Of July BBQ Decor Ideas On A Budget
It feels like every year we inch our way towards summer and before we know it, it’s the 4th of July! And it would be completely un-American not to celebrate, right?! So in the spirit of a good old fashioned American BBQ, I am going to show you a few easy and budget friendly decor ideas to take your BBQ to the next level. And at the very end I am including a link to my go to BBQ favs, tried and true!
Whenever we plan a house party, I like to have a general theme in mind. For this one the theme is easy. America. And when we are talking about a food event, I always start with the table where people will be eating. If you saw my Spring Tablescape, you know I don’t like to accumulate too many “one holiday” decor items because it can get pretty pricey, but I love to add themed items into the decor I already own. So I started with my white outdoor plates which can be paired with pretty much anything. To get them in the patriotic spirit, I added some red, white, & blue paper salad plates I picked up at Target in the bargain section for only $1. When we dine outside on the patio, I also like to use placemats since the table has cutouts. It makes for easier cleanup. So I snagged some red and blue placemats at the Dollar Tree for $1 each. I can use each color individually for other occasions too, which makes them more versatile.
While I was at the Dollar Tree, I also grabbed a few small American flags. I had intended to use a glass vase I had, but then I saw this small silver vessel in my stash of décor items, I knew it was perfect! Crazy enough, it was originally a bathroom soap dispenser that stopped working! I just knew the bottom of it would serve me well someday 🙂 You never know what you will find in our basement!
Last fall, before our chili cook-off party, I found these glass and wooden hurricanes at HomeGoods (come on, are you really surprised?). They are still high on my favorites list so I used them to add in some organic texture.
Once the table was put together, I moved onto the buffet table where we set up food. To continue with the festive theme, I incorporated some red, white, & blue serving dishes I found at the Dollar Tree. How fun are those red stars? Again these could all be used on different occasions individually making them not “one season”.
Then I broke out my chalk board and paired it with a festive USA sign I also found for $1 to add to the theme.
To finish off the buffet table, I added a drink station, star napkins, and a small pail for silverware. All items except the napkins, I already owned and use for a multitude of occasions.
So with only $15 I added festive, 4th of July flair to our BBQ!
The only thing missing now is food! I am by no means a food expert or blogger, but there are some great ones out there and they make me look good! Check out my summer BBQ favorites here.
