The Best of 2017 | Top 5 Posts

The older I get the faster time seems to pass which was especially true with 2017. Although time felt like it was moving at warp speed, we finished some of my favorite projects and are in progress on some others…….you know, the master bath. Lets not dwell on what we didn’t do ok, but rather what we did do 🙂 So lets take a look at my top 5 posts of the year based on your page views! And PS THANK YOU for all of your support this year! I can’t do this without you!Collage of home interior photos titled "The Best of 2017: Top 5 Posts." 5 – DIY Designer Upholstered Bed

In fifth place for 2017, my DIY Designer Upholstered Bed. If you missed this post, it’s definitely a must read! The Cliff’s note version is we started our master suite renovation this year and I really wanted a fully upholstered bed. But the bed I loved was $3k!!! That’s like a third of a CAR for a bed?! So naturally I found a way to DIY my own for only $300 and included a tutorial so you can make your own 🙂Top: A cart filled with wooden planks. Bottom: A modern bedroom featuring a DIY upholstered bed with a red headboard, white bedding, and decorative pillows. Text reads, "From Wood to DIY Designer Upholstered Bed.

4 – A Modern Shiplap Wall

The fourth place spot goes to the Modern Shiplap Wall we did in our bedroom. When we started this project I had no idea exactly how it would end up nor did I ever imagine it would be so mentally exhausting. I really wanted an accent wall in our bedroom but wanted to step outside the trend box a bit and do something different from your standard Joanna Gains shiplap. I love how it turned out but let’s just say I wish I had paid more attention in geometry 🙂  A collage showcasing a modern shiplap wall with diagonal patterns. The bottom images show construction progress, and a person is holding a nail gun in the corner. Text reads "Modern Shiplap Wall" with a website link below.

3 – DIY Faux Fur Christmas Wreath

Third place goes to my DIY Faux Fur Christmas Wreath. This project is probably one of my favorite all time DIYs. The idea came to me one day when I was aimlessly wondering through the aisles of, you guessed it, HomeGoods! I saw a fur wreath but it was like $60 and I just couldn’t justify that for holiday decor. So I made my own and included a tutorial for you! This was really simple to make and looks awesome!A "No Sew DIY Fur Christmas Wreath" with step-by-step images. The top shows a wreath foam ring, fur fabric, and scissors on burlap. The bottom displays the completed wreath with "NOEL" letters hanging in the center, placed on a dark door.

2 – Small Walk-In Closet PAX Big Storage

The second place spot goes to my closet makeover! This is likely my favorite project we have done to date because it solved my biggest complaint about our house. My closet was crap. It wasn’t functional, it was never organized and I could never find anything. Solution, the Ikea PAX. This was not sponsored by Ikea, but if anyone knows the folks over there, I think we need to work something out 🙂 Seriously, this was life changing.Experience a compact walk-in closet transformation with the IKEA PAX system, showcasing organized shelves of folded clothes, neatly hung shirts, and spacious drawers. A tall mirror reflects the sleek design while a small wooden stool adds charm to the corner of this efficient IKEA walk-in.

1 – Kitchen Makeover on a Real Person Budget

Coming in at number one is the kitchen makeover we did over at my mom’s house. This was definitely my mom’s favorite project in 2017 and she is already trying to book us for projects in 2018! But I think readers enjoyed it because we transformed a kitchen in need for only $1500 in 7 weeks. It is proof you don’t need tens of thousands of dollars to make a big difference in how your kitchen functions. Collage of a kitchen makeover featuring modern gray cabinets, stainless steel appliances, and a central island. Includes decor details like plants, coffee signage, and a cozy dining area. Caption reads: "Kitchen Makeover on a Real Person Budget.

I hope everyone had an amazing year! Thank you so much for all your support in 2017! It really does mean the world to me 🙂 I have some exciting things planned for 2018 so make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss out on the fun!
