Christmas or New Years Gold and Silver Glam Tablescape
I am totally in the Christmas spirit these days and one of my favorite things to design for any holiday is the tablescape. I may have a slight obsession with dishes 🙂 Is that weird? While I find this incredibly fun, it occurred to me how it could be very intimidating to others. So I am going to show you an easy tablescape that can pull double duty and be used for Christmas or New Years Eve!

If you know me outside of this blog, you know I love being fancy. So it should come as no surprise I also love a glamorous tablescape and Christmas and NYE are the perfect occasions to glam it up. For this table setting, I have chosen several of my all time favorite pieces, starting with these square white dishes. They are hands down my staple when it comes to dishes. We do not use them everyday, but they are dishwasher safe and add a little modern interest with their square shape.
To add to the glam factor, I paired my favorite dishes with the salad plates from my grandmother’s China. For obvious reasons, her China is very special to me but I use it sparingly because they have to be hand washed. But the simple silver metallic border makes these dishes incredibly versatile and elegant.
For the table runner, I selected my two toned silver and gold polka dots. I found this at HomeGoods last year and I love it because it can cross over from holiday to holiday effortlessly. You may recognize it from my Spring Tablescape.
To bring out some of the gold in the runner, I chose a gold charger plate. I have had these for so long I can’t even remember where I found them, but these are similar.
The centerpiece is one of my favorite table decorations. I received it as a Christmas gift many years ago, but it continuously makes encore appearances in my decor.
I have a few sets of silverware, but this set adds the most bling. The texture of the handles catches the light just right for a bit of sparkle.
In our house, no table is complete without the wine glasses, because, well, we love wine! To compliment this glam style, I chose these crystal glasses, which were also my grandmothers and definitely up the fancy factor.
To top it all off, I added these silver and gold polka dotted napkins. They bring a bit of playfulness to the table but still compliment the theme.
With just a few simple pieces, you can have a beautiful tablescape you can enjoy more than once this holiday season 🙂
