Holiday Cheer Christmas House Tour 2017

The holiday season is here and Christmas is only 12 days away! Can you believe that? I feel like only yesterday it was summer, but that is partly due to the continued 60 degree days we keep having. Come on mother nature, give me some snow 🙂 Winter weather or not, our house is ready for Christmas. Decorations are up and lights are strung and today I am going to share our Christmas decor.

If you caught my post last week or follow me on Instagram, you know my motto this year is less is more. For years I would break out ALL the decorations I had and go completely crazy. Then January would roll around and I would dread taking them all down and when I finally did, the house always felt so empty. In the spirit of working smarter and not harder, I selectively chose my decor this year and decorated only a few rooms. Most of the decorations land in our family room where we put up our tree and spend the most time. AKA, that’s where the TV is 😉

A cozy living room decorated for Christmas, featuring a tall, lit Christmas tree next to a fireplace adorned with stockings. Couches and a coffee table complete the seating area, with a large TV mounted above the mantelpiece.

I normally don’t do the holiday pillow swap, but I couldn’t resist when I found these fun Christmas pillow covers on clearance at H&M last year for only $3 each!

A tall, decorated Christmas tree with lights and ornaments stands by a window in a cozy living room. Two brown chairs with festive pillows are placed on either side. The room has wooden floors and beams, with curtains drawn back.

I played up the color with some festive red blankets I had on hand. I know there is a great debate out there over neutral Christmas colors or red, but our house already sports the red, so I’m on board.

A cozy living room featuring a beige sofa adorned with assorted throw pillows and a red blanket. A large framed mirror with "Let's Stay" decor hangs above. A black ottoman serves as a coffee table, and a console table is visible in the background.

A cozy setting with a fleece blanket featuring red, white, and gray snowflake patterns draped over a light-colored couch. Behind it are two decorative pillows, one with a silver starburst and the other with a geometric gray pattern.

These “Let It Snow” letters have been a staple in my holiday decor for years now. If only I could get the forecast to participate 🙂

A festive sign with the words "Let it Snow" hangs on a wall. In the background, a decorated Christmas tree with lights is visible next to a window.

A cozy living room featuring a beige sofa with multiple cushions, a red blanket, and a dark throw. A large framed mirror reflects a lit Christmas tree. A tall lamp stands beside the sofa.

I decided to change up our Christmas stockings this year because I am totally in love with all the faux fur this season. You might have gathered from my DIY Wreath  a few weeks ago 😉

A decorated fireplace mantle with Christmas stockings hanging. Glittery trees, red ornaments, and a small snowflake decor adorn the mantle. A lit tree is reflected in the TV above. Cozy, festive holiday atmosphere.

A gray faux fur Christmas stocking with a silver letter "L" hangs from a snowflake hook on a brick mantle. In the background, there is a small decorative tree and part of a TV screen visible.

I just couldn’t help myself when I saw this modern, gold, reindeer stocking either! It’s the perfect compliment to the fur stockings!

A Christmas stocking with a gold reindeer design hangs from a fireplace mantel. Above, decorative gold and red ornaments rest on the mantel next to a television.

And the faux fur cone trees are further proof of my obsession!

A living room with a brick fireplace, a TV mounted above, and Christmas stockings hanging from the mantel. The mantel is decorated with cone-shaped trees. A red wire side table and fireplace tools are nearby. The floor is wood.

A mantel decorated with a silver snowflake, pink and gold cone-shaped trees, red ornaments, and a gray furry cone. A Christmas stocking with the letter "B" hangs over the edge. A TV is mounted on the wall beside the decorations.

I brought in my red plant stand to add a little more color to the landscape. I might as well right? It was just collecting dust in the basement with the rest of our patio furniture while mother nature tricks us into thinking it’s not really winter, haha!

Cozy living room corner with a brown leather chair featuring a cushion that reads "We Wish You A Very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year." There's a small orange table, bookshelf, and a decorated Christmas tree nearby.

A mantel decorated with three conical trees: one silver, one gold, and one covered in gray fur. Two red ornaments sit nearby. A gray stocking with the initial "B" hangs from the mantel's edge.

A modern living room scene featuring a red wire side table near a fireplace. On the table sits a white candle in a black lantern. Books and magazines are on a shelf in the background, and decorative lights are visible near the firewood.

From the family room, I moved up to the kitchen. In here, I kept things very simple and only added a centerpiece on the kitchen table.

A modern dining area features a black and white round table with sleek metal chairs. A contemporary spherical chandelier hangs above. The background includes a wall-mounted TV and a small Christmas tree, with light filtering through glass blocks.

This glass hurricane is also part of my summer decor but I loved the simplicity and industrial feel of the cement base mixed with some faux greenery and miniature Christmas bulbs.

A white candle surrounded by silver ornaments is placed inside a glass and stone holder on a dark round table. Greenery is arranged around the base, creating a simple and elegant centerpiece.

Then I made my way into the entryway. I started by adding my favorite wooden Noel sign which jumped into my cart one day at HomeGoods 😉 I topped it off with some embellished greenery and the larger version of the sparkly wooden Christmas trees I have on the fireplace.

A stylish cabinet topped with a metallic lamp, circular mirror, and festive decorations, including a "NOEL" sign and a wooden tree figure, creates a cozy holiday display.

This neutral palette plays perfectly with the faux fur wreath I made for the back of our front door. You can learn how to make your own here

A black front door adorned with a festive Christmas wreath, crafted from brown fur and hanging elegantly from a ribbon. White letters spell "NOEL," illuminated gently by the light streaming through a nearby window.

A decorative Christmas wreath made of faux fur with large wooden letters spelling "NOEL" hangs on a door. The festive wreath is adorned with a shimmering ribbon for hanging.

From there, I made my way into the dining room. I used my silver and gold table runner and paired it with these simple white ceramic Christmas trees.

A decorative white geometric tree inside a glass polygonal terrarium sits on a table. The table runner features gold and silver dots.

A modern dining room with a black table, cushioned chairs, and a silver chandelier. Two glass lanterns sit on a gray table runner adorned with gold dots. A window with red curtains provides natural light. A decorative mirror hangs on a cream wall.

The last stop on my Christmas decor tour is the living room.

A cozy living room with a gray sofa, featuring red and beige pillows. A glass coffee table holds a decorative plate with a candle and Christmas ornaments. Two small signs on the wall read "Merry" and "Christmas.

I upped the Christmas vibe in here with a simple coffee table centerpiece. I just added an assortment of Christmas bulbs and a candle to the coffee table bowl.

A decorative glass bowl filled with a variety of metallic and glittery Christmas ornaments in red, silver, and gold hues, surrounding a white pillar candle placed at the center.

Then I created some DIY Christmas art work with this free printable

Two framed signs hang vertically against a window. The top frame reads "Merry" and the bottom frame reads "Christmas," both in cursive font with small gold star designs.
